Rutgers Latino Studies Research Initiative Featured in NYU’s Intervenxions – Published by The Latinx Project

The Rutgers Latino Studies Research Initiative (LSRI) is proud to share that Co-Coordinator Aldo Lauria Santiago was recently quoted in an article by Yara Simón, Deputy Editor of Intervenxions, part of the Latinx Project at New York University.

The article, Academic Books @ La Feria 2025, highlights new publications in Latina/o studies, including Latinas/os in New Jersey: Histories, Communities, and Cultures (Rutgers University Press, 2025), co-edited by Lauria Santiago and Ulla D. Berg.

Lauria Santiago emphasized how scholarship on Puerto Ricans and other Latinas/os in New Jersey has historically been overlooked, despite the state’s large and diverse population. He also situated the volume within decades of community engagement, curriculum development, and scholarship at Rutgers.
