Latinos/Puerto Ricans in New York: Research Blogs and Articles
Part of our Department’s mission has been to document, celebrate, and support the experiences and struggles of Puerto Ricans and Latinos in New York.
These articles and blogs are the product of our faculty, students, and other scholars and activists working in New York.
Some of these essays are part of Professor Lauria Santiago’s research on Puerto Ricans in New York in the 20th century. The first is an online book, an advance on his forthcoming books on New York City.
The essays by Natalie Saldarriaga, a former Rutgers student advised by Prof. Lauria Santiago, provide detailed research into Puerto Rican migration and political movements in New York.
The online exhibit by Professors Lauria Santiago and Ismael Garcia Colon documents the migration experience with documents from Puerto Rico’s Department of Labor.
