The Latino Studies Research Initiative celebrates the release of SalviJerseyans: Historias de los inmigrantes salvadoreños en New Jersey (2025) by Carmen Molina-Tamacas, a Salvadoran-born journalist and anthropologist. The book chronicles the lives and legacies of Salvadoran immigrants who have built communities across New Jersey.
Molina-Tamacas works as a bilingual news editor at Weather.com and serves on the board of the Centro de Estudios y Servicios Urbanos (CEUS) in Union City. Her new publication follows her earlier book, SalviYorkers, expanding her documentation of Salvadoran migration and cultural identity.
An English translation and audiobook are in development.
